Anselmo Millan

Anselmo Millan is the former Councilman for the 2nd Ward in Harrison. Former Councilman Millan served the residents of the Town of Harrison as Councilman for over 25 years. Councilman Millan gave up his council seat to run for Mayor in 2018’s Democratic Primary Election. “Experience is so important in holding Public Office but new council members bring new ideas to the table for discussion,” stated Councilman Millan. Anselmo not only has experience but a tremendous work ethic. Anselmo stated, “In order to administer Harrison better you need new ideas, discussion of issues affecting the community, and solutions to problems. Right now there are no new ideas, discussions, or solutions and nobody is working hard. I know that with my leadership as Mayor the Town of Harrison will be even a better place to reside. In 2018, I ran for Mayor and lost by a little over 150 voters. The issues affecting Harrison residents have not changed. My record of accomplishments throughout the years demonstrates as my opponent put it “tireless work" on behalf of Harrison. You have a choice on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. I ask that you exercise your very important right to vote and that you case your vote for Mayor for me.

Anselmo’s work ethic is unmatched by any of the Town’s current elected officials. Among his many accomplishments, Anselmo founded and coordinated the annual Harrison Fest Celebration along Harrison Avenue with its Grand Parade, Street Festival, and Queens Gala.

In 2017, Harrison Mayor James Fife recognized and praised Anselmo at a Town Hall meeting for “everything you do” and “you and your committee worked tirelessly to get the job done” and “it was a great success" “It was a great time”

However when former Councilman Millan announced his candidacy for Mayor in 2018, Harrison Mayor James Fife did not allow Harrison Fest 2018 to proceed. Mayor Fife put politics ahead of the Harrison community.
